BUILDING ON A STRONG FOUNDATION: HARVARD INVESTMENTS ENTERS ITS NEXT CHAPTER

Harvard Investments is entering an exciting new chapter in its leadership journey. As part of a planned transition to ensure continued growth and continuity, Tim Brislin has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and President, and Craig Krumwiede, who has led the company as CEO and President since 1994, transitions to Executive Chairman.

The transition reflects Harvard Investments’ longstanding commitment to thoughtful succession planning and organizational stability. It also underscores the company’s focus on building for the future while remaining grounded in the principles and relationships that have shaped its success.

While leadership roles evolve, the values and long-term vision that have guided the company continue to shape its work and future direction. The transition reinforces  Harvard Investments’ belief that successful organizations are not defined by a single leader, but by the strength of their culture, the quality of their people, and the clarity of their purpose.

“It is an incredible honor to assume the role of CEO of Harvard Investments. Much of what I know about leadership, vision, and stewardship comes from learning alongside Craig and Senior Vice President Chris Cacheris, and the exceptional team we built together. Harvard Investments is about more than real estate,” Brislin said. “We create places where families thrive, businesses grow, and communities endure.”

As CEO and President, Brislin will lead the company’s operations, investment activities, and development initiatives throughout the Southwest. Having been part of the Harvard Investments team since 2007 and serving as President since 2023, he has played an integral role in shaping many of the company’s most significant growth initiatives.

His leadership has contributed to the expansion of Harvard’s master-planned communities, strategic acquisitions, and the growth of innovative platforms such as the firm’s FirstStreet build-to-rent product.

Just as importantly, Brislin brings a deep understanding of the company’s culture and long-term vision.

“Harvard Investments is about more than real estate,” Brislin said. “We create places where families thrive, businesses grow, and communities endure.”

That philosophy has long distinguished Harvard Investments and continues to guide the organization’s approach to development. Across Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico, the company has focused on creating enduring value through responsible growth, thoughtful planning, and strong partnerships.

Under Krumwiede’s leadership, Harvard Investments evolved into one of the Southwest’s most respected real estate investment and development organizations. Through multiple economic cycles, the company remained committed to long-term value creation, disciplined investment strategies, and community building. Those principles helped establish a strong foundation that continues to position the company for future opportunities.

As Executive Chairman, Krumwiede will remain actively involved in shaping the company’s long-term strategy, mentoring its leadership team, and supporting major initiatives across the organization.

His continued involvement reflects the collaborative nature of the transition and Harvard’s belief that experience and innovation work best together. The next generation of leadership is not replacing the past; it is building upon it.

Krumwiede also recognizes the enduring support and stewardship of the Hill family, whose long-term vision has helped guide the organization through decades of growth and change. Across multiple generations, the Hill family’s commitment to the company, its people, and its mission has provided the consistency that enables thoughtful decision-making and sustainable success.

“One of the greatest privileges of my career has been the opportunity to work alongside the Hill family. I had the honor of working with three generations of Hill leaders.  Throughout that time, they have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Harvard Investments, its people, and its mission. I am deeply grateful for those relationships and confident that their stewardship and support will continue to serve Harvard well for generations to come,” Krumwiede said.

Looking ahead, Harvard Investments remains focused on the opportunities shaping the Southwest. Population growth, economic expansion, housing demand, and continued investment in infrastructure are creating new possibilities for communities throughout the region. The company is well-positioned to help meet those needs through a disciplined approach to investment, development, and placemaking.

From master-planned communities such as Estrella and Solstice Foothills to future developments still taking shape, Harvard Investments remains committed to creating places that stand the test of time.

Great communities are not built overnight. They are the result of long-term thinking, strong partnerships, and a commitment to future generations. Those principles have shaped Harvard Investments throughout its history and will continue to guide the company in the years ahead.

As Harvard Investments enters its next chapter, the foundation is strong, the vision is clear, and the future is bright. Guided by experienced leadership, supported by an exceptional team, and grounded in enduring values, the company remains focused on what it has always done best: creating lasting value for the communities it serves.

“This transition is the result of an intentional process that has been years in the making,” Krumwiede said. “I had the privilege of working alongside Tim for nearly two decades and watched him develop into an exceptional leader. He understands our culture, our passion for placemaking, and our responsibility to the communities we serve. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Harvard Investments into its next chapter while remaining true to the values that have defined this company for generations.”
