CAMP VERDE, AZ

The Homestead is located one hour north of Phoenix, on the Northeast corner of Interstate 17 and State Highway 260, at the Cottonwood/Camp Verde exit.
As the Gateway to the Verde Valley, this 393 acre master planned community is conceived as a compelling alternative to the summer heat and city bustle; featuring expansive open space and trails leading to the adjacent Verde River.

Harvard’s plan gracefully combined 800 single-family residences, 300 apartment units, and 45 acres of retail, office, and medical campus space. Permitted lot sizes included 50, 60, and 75 foot wide sites, with a small amount of 35,000 SF lots on the periphery. The entitlements permit up to eight acres of high density cluster product. Over 33% of the site is conceived as open space.

Private land in the Verde Valley is highly limited due to ownerships controlled by the State, Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. Harvard worked closely with the town of Camp Verde to modify their general plan to make The Homestead a key factor of development in Verde Valley.

The plan was designed with a western rural theme complimenting the history of Fort Verde and the Verde Valley.
