My passion for the industry has lead me to teaching and mentorship with some of the brightest minds at ASU. Giving back really is a gift.
Mathew serves as Vice President at Harvard Investments where he is responsible for launching and developing Harvard’s newest asset class; horizontal rental communities. Portfolio oversight includes identifying and negotiating strategic acquisitions, spearheading joint venture relationships, and managing the development process of existing sites. To date, construction has begun on one rental community with more than 2,000 units in the pipeline for development throughout Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas with planned expansion to Colorado and Utah.
Prior to Harvard Investments, Mathew was Vice president of Acquisitions at Progress Residential, a national single-family REIT with over 30k homes, where he oversaw and managed development of multiple new acquisition channels including strategic national homebuilder relationships, new construction, Build to Rent and single family rental portfolios.
Mathew’s on-going commitment and passion for learning new things and helping others has lead him to teaching and mentoring young people as a professor of Real Estate Finance and Investment at Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business. In his rare, but valued down-time, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking and anything outdoors with his wife and two children.
